Located in a quiet street, Pousada dos Inconfidentes is an elegant, new Colonial-style inn with 13 nicely outfitted suites decorated by a famous Brazilian interior designer. The inn itself is named after the “Inconfidentes,” 18th-century Colonial rebels who stood against the Portuguese crown, and each suite bears the name of a different local rebellion hero. There is a lovely library where you can enjoy a good read with a cup of tea or coffee and cookies, and beautiful gardens that are equally pleasant on sunny days. In the evenings, savor a drink at the cozy piano bar or take advantage of the inn’s home theater.
