Dramatic and stately in appearance, Netherwood was built as a family house in the 19th century, and still exudes a warm, family atmosphere thanks to the care of its longstanding owners, the Fallowfields. Impressive oak panelling is a key feature, and provides a fitting backdrop to roaring log fires in the public areas. Bedrooms come with views of the sea, woodlands and gardens. The light and airy restaurant is housed in the first floor conservatory and maximises dramatic views over Morecambe Bay. If you're a family you'll probably spend the lion's share of your time in the indoor pool and fitness centre - the pool even has toys for our younger friends - while an extensive range of treatments are available at "Equilibrium", the hotel's health spa.
