Description
Few historic houses can match Sudeley Castle’s long, curious and fascinating history. Spanning a thousand years the Castle has changed hands over a dozen times, has more than once been a Royal residence and had played host to at least six Kings and Queens of England. Sudeley is perhaps best known as the home of Queen Katherine Parr, who is entombed in St. Mary’s Church in the castle grounds. The award winning gardens work themselves seamlessly around the Castle buildings and ruins and are a delight throughout the seasons. Visitors can enjoy a number of exhibitions featuring the fascinating collections of Emma Dent, the Victorian chatelaine of Sudeley. A new textiles exhibition features fine examples of textiles dating back to the 17th Century, including delicate lace, sumptuous silk hangings and tapestry. A regular programme of exciting events provide entertainment for the whole family. Find out more on the website or call for details. Website: www.sudeleycastle.co.uk Email: enquiries@mediaeden.co.uk
