Description
The Royal Institution, a historic and inspiring venue which has been a centre for groundbreaking scientific research and communication for over 200 years, has recently completed a £22 million redevelopment. The Collections include scientific artifacts, manuscripts, books and works of art that relate to those who have lived, researched and lectured in the building including Humphry Davy, Michael Faraday, John Tyndall, James Dewar, William Bragg, Lawrence Bragg and George Porter. The heritage significance lies not only in the intrinsic merit of the items, but in the fact that the vast majority of items have remained in the building since their creation.
