Widely acknowlegdged as one of the ten most important historic gardens in Britain, Hestercombe is a unique combination of three distinctive gardens, designed over three centuries. Stroll through the restored Landscape Garden featuring a witchhouse, Chinese seat, Rustic seat, Octagon Summer House, temple, cascade and ponds - set in 40 acres of a wooded valley with shade and dappled pathways. The Victorian Terrace and Shrubbery lead on to the world famous Formal Garden with architecture by Sir Edwin Lutyens complimented by Gertrude Jekyll’s planting; arguably the finest example of their design collaboration.
