Description

Loseley Park is situated in 1,400 acres of glorious rolling countryside, just three miles south of Guilford and has been the home of the More-Molyneux family for 500 years. The house was built in 1562 by Sir William More, a direct ancestor of the family, at the request of Queen Elizabeth I, who was a freqeunt visitor to Loseley Park. It contains many fine pieces of furniture, including George VI's coronation chair and several imposing family portraits. The Drawing Room features a stunning and unique chimney piece; an intircate work of art carved out of a single piece of chalk quarried locally. The house is surrounded by lawns, parkland and an attractive lake approached by an avenue of chestnut trees. A short stroll from the house is the stunning Walled Garden based on a design by Gertrude Jekyll. Other attractions at Loseley Park include plant sales, a well-stocked gift shop, a lunchtime restaurant and courtyard tea-room. Loseley Park is also available for wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate conferences, meetings and activity days, lunches and dinners.
